What This Phase Is For

This is the creative and strategic core of the simulation. Phase 3 is where your team builds the actual Future Care Model — working through all twelve domains of the canvas to produce a coherent, integrated strategy for how Lakeview will deliver healthcare differently.

The canvas is not a checklist. It is a design tool. Every domain you complete should connect to the others. Your workforce model must match your care delivery redesign. Your payment model must support your cost reduction strategy. Your community partnership plan must reflect your equity commitments. Coherence across domains is what separates a strategy from a collection of good ideas.

What Your Team Should Accomplish

Complete all 12 domains of the Future Care Model Canvas with substantive, specific content.
Make real strategic choices — not 'all of the above' — in each domain.
Ensure your decisions are internally consistent: your workforce model should support your care delivery redesign, your financial model should support your access strategy.
Ground your choices in the Lakeview data — every major decision should have a data point behind it.
Anticipate the press conference questions that will come for each domain.
Assign ownership across roles: each domain should have a primary owner who can speak to it under questioning.

⚡ Curveball #2 Watch

A second curveball will arrive mid-Phase 3. It will introduce a physician engagement challenge. Your strategy for handling it should emerge from your CMO — and from the commitments made in Phase 2.

How to Stay on Track Over Three Hours

Domains 1–6 in the first 90 minutes; Domains 7–12 in the second 90 minutes.
Assign a timekeeper who monitors progress across domains — three hours disappears quickly.
If you get stuck on a domain, note the tension explicitly and keep moving — you can return.
When a subject matter expert is available for consultation, use them like a board advisor: specific questions, not general conversation.

The Standard You Are Aiming For

By the end of Phase 3, your team should be able to answer these questions clearly and specifically:

Who is the primary population this model is designed to serve — and why?
What does care delivery look like differently on January 1st of Year 1?
How does this model get paid for — and who carries the financial risk during transition?
What does success look like at Year 1? Year 3? Year 10?
What are the three biggest risks, and how are you managing each one?
